College Football Hall of Fame · 1948 national championship · 3 conference titles
Oosterbaan took over from Crisler in 1948 and won the national championship in his first season, going 9-0. He had been a three-time All-American end for Michigan in the 1920s, which makes him one of the few men to win a national title for the program as both a player and a head coach.
He coached eleven seasons, won three conference titles and finished 63-33-4.
